Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what cookies Examly uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Cookies we use

Essential cookies

Required

These cookies are required for Examly to function. They keep you signed in between page loads and protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks.

Examples: Supabase auth session token, CSRF token

Cannot be disabled — required for sign-in to work.

Functional cookies

Optional

These cookies remember your preferences, such as the last academy you visited or your UI state, so you do not have to reset them every time you return.

Examples: pending_join_slug, login_context, student_org

Can be disabled in your browser settings.

Analytics cookies

Optional

We use anonymised analytics to understand how the platform is used — which pages are popular, where users drop off — so we can improve the experience.

Examples: Anonymised page-view counters (no personal identifiers)

Can be disabled in your browser settings.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work correctly and remember your preferences. Examly also uses localStorage — a similar technology built into your browser — to remember things like which academy you are trying to join, so the experience is seamless after you sign in.

How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here is how to do it in the most common browsers: • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions Please note: disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to Examly. You can also clear localStorage in your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage).

Third-party cookies

When you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies as part of the OAuth authentication flow. These are governed by Google's own cookie policy, not ours. We do not embed third-party advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or analytics platforms that set their own tracking cookies.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as we change how the platform works. If we add new types of cookies, we will update this page and note the date below. Continued use of Examly after an update means you accept the new policy.
